5 Days Kenya Wildlife Special Safari

The safari takes you to the only private conservancy – Ol’pejeta (formerly known as sweet waters) where you will visit the orphaned chimpanzees, take full day game drives in Lake Nakuru and Maasai National parks, visit the Maasai people with their unique culture among others.

The journey is rewarding as you pass through local homesteads, undulating hills, tea and coffee plantations. You will be able to spot a number of animals including big five animals (lions, leopards, rhinos, buffaloes and elephants) and others are wildebeests, giraffes, Zebras, topis, gazelles, elands among others.

Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Depart Nairobi and drive to sweet waters (Ol’pejeta conservancy)

The driver guide assigned to you will take you to sweet waters in northern part of the country passing through verdant coffee and tea plantations. The journey takes 4- hours and on arriving, you will visit the chimpanzee sanctuary that was established by Jane Good all institute with an aim of offering shelter to orphaned chimpanzees.

Therefore, this area offers excellent game viewing with the highest ratio of game such as the big five (lion, elephant, rhinos, leopard and buffalos) among others. The sanctuary has a number of private water holes and salt licks and here you will be allowed to take a closer gaze over them. Spend a night here after a short tour with in the only private conservancy in Kenya.

Day 2: Depart to Lake Nakuru N/P

Travel to Lake Nakuru national park and it derives its name from the Lake Nakuru – a Rift Valley lake that has for years been a home to huge population of pink flamingos, which makes it a great place for photography.

It’s also home of giraffes, white and black rhinos, waterbucks, lions, cheetahs, and leopards. Resident birds include the African Fish Eagle, Goliath heron, pied kingfisher and hamerkop. On arrival, you may take an evening game drive that will enable you watch several animal species and be served dinner in the night.

Day 3: Depart to Maasai Mara NP

You will check out of the lodge, take an early game drive, mid-breakfast later and transfer to the Maasai Mara National park thereafter. This is one of the famous national reserves in Kenya due to its impressive number of big cats including lions and cheetahs; also when visiting between July and October, you will view the notable mass movement of wildebeests, gazelles and Zebras that come to feast on the verdant savannah grass lands.

this park extends to the Serengeti plains in Northern Tanzania, a place which is well known for the migration of millions of wildebeests, thousands of zebras and its unique Maasai Culture, known to be the ancestral residents of this park. The road trip takes 6-7 hours’ drive.

Day 4: Full day wildlife exploration in Maasai Mara NP

Discover the park right away from the bed as you listen to the songs of birds and take an early morning game drive to watch early risers. Among other animals that can be watched during this game drive are wildebeests, giraffes, Zebras, buffalos, gazelles, elands, topis, lions and leopards.

Later in the evening, visit the Maasai people to explore their culture through traditional dances, marriage ceremonies, local brew and traditional meals preparation. The safari will enable you to discover all corners of the park and take an evening game drive through the park to your lodge.

Day 5: Half day game drive and travel to Nairobi

Take a short game drive after your breakfast and continue to connect to Nairobi where you will be dropped at the airport or hotel which will be the end of your 5 days Sweet waters, Maasai Mara and Lake Nakuru safari in Kenya.
