Trek the chimpanzees in Kibale national park on budget to cut your costs as you view other attractions like the crater lakes, hills; other primates include black and white colobus monkeys, Vervet monkeys, red tailed monkeys, Mangabeys among others. Kibale is also known for its flora such as the Adam’s tree and other natural forest trees that have over 100 years. Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Travel to Kibale forest (western Uganda) from Kampala/Entebbe
Travel to Kibale National park in western Uganda known to be the primate world with over 13 species of primates in number and among others are the chimps- our close cousins, black and white colobus monkeys, Vervet monkeys, Mangabeys, red tailed monkeys among others.
The unique bird species that inhabit this forest include the green breasted pitta, the great blue turacos, palm nut vultures among others. The journey will take 5-6 hours’ drive and on reaching, you will check in the lodge and relax.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and Crater Lake exploration
Wake up and transfer to Kanyanchu information centre to trek the endangered species which are our close cousins after breakfast. Trekking will start immediately after briefing and an hour will be located to you to enjoy the presence of a chimpanzee troop as you take photos and memorable videos but remember flash lights are not allowed.
After 3-4hours trek back and head to the lodge for lunch and at around 3pm explore the crater lakes that are nearby your lodge, learn about their names, fish types and fishing methods and also participate in the fishing. After head back to the lodge for dinner
Day 3: Depart to Kampala in the central part of Uganda
Enjoy a leisure breakfast in the morning, and after depart to Kampala in the central part of Uganda, a journey taking 5-6 hours’ drive. On the arrival you will be dropped at the airport or at the booked hotel and this will be the end of the 3 days budget chimpanzee trekking tour in Uganda.
