Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Mgahinga National Park
Early in the morning, at 8:00am you will be picked from your hotel around Kampala city by our professional guide. Happily, he or she will brief you about the whole tour. Thereafter, start your 8 to 9-hour drive to Mgahinga National Park.
You will pass via the Kayabwe Equator crossing point for a stopover for pictures. Then continue the journey to Mbarara where you will have lunch. Later, proceed to Mgahinga National Park in Kisoro, via Ntungamo-Kabale road, Check in at the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay in peace and quiet.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga National Park
Have an early morning breakfast and drive to the park headquarters. Get briefed about the dos and don’ts while on the trek of gorillas in Mgahinga National Park.
Trekking of the mountain gorillas takes about 2 to 8 hours. This is done in a group of 8 individuals visiting the resident Nyakagezi gorilla family. It is the only habituated family in the park and time spent with them is a maximum of one hour.
Later after the fun adventure, head back to the lodge for short relaxation. But, wait for dinner and overnight stay in the evening.
Day 3: Travel from Mgahinga back to Kampala
After a refreshing breakfast, check out of the lodge and begin your departure from Mgahinga National park. You will still be driven by our professional guide through the beautiful hills, and scenic views of Kisoro city. Mbarara will also leave you breath taken as you drive back to Kampala.
