The 3 days Queen Elizabeth wildlife & chimpanzee safari offers beyond natural wonders in Uganda. This tour will take you to the most beautiful national park, Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is marked with a number of beautiful game and a myriad of activities. Game drives, and a boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. Also, on this trip you will have chimp trekking experience in Kyambura gorge in the northern side of the park. Have a lot of memorable experiences as you explore the most hidden parts of the park. Your trip starts and ends in Kampala.
Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Have an early morning game drive; you will be picked up our professional guide who will brief you about the 4 days wildlife and chimp trekking tour. The set off will be from Kampala and drive for about 6 hours to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
While on the journey, have a stopover at the Equator in Kayabwe for pictures, later head to Mbarara at Igongo culture center where you will have lunch. After lunch continue the journey to the park for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning game drive and boat cruise along Kazinga channel.
After an early morning breakfast, take a drive to Kasenyi sector for morning game drive. While here you will get exposed to a number of mammal species like antelopes, buffaloes and elephants and a number of bird species. After this activity head to the lodge for lunch and then prepare for boat cruise on Kazinga channel.
The channel is a converging area for some really numerous animal species. They include hippos, elephants, crocodiles, and over 40 water bird species. Most come to cool off the heat and also to drink from the river. All this can be viewed while relaxed on the 2-3 hour boat cruise. After this activity head back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight.
Day 3: Chimp trekking in Kyambura gorge and Transfer back to Kampala
After delicious breakfast, drive to Kyambura region, and get briefed about the chimp trekking by the guide. Later, head to the jungle for the trek of these great species. The Kyambura valley has more than 80 chimpanzees, but also accommodates other primates and birds.
The slopes of Kyambura gorge attract various birds that by chance you might have a glimpse of. This is while you trek chimpanzees for 1 to 5 hours. After this activity, begin a 6 hours’ journey to Kampala from Queen Elizabeth NP.
Make a stopover at the equator for photos and craft shopping. Later continue to your overnight hotel in Kampala or Entebbe international airport for departure. This is the end of the 3 days Queen Elizabeth wildlife & chimpanzee safari in Uganda.
